This years Boot Drive will be, August 15th, 22nd and 29th. All the information is listed below. All the supplies for the collection will be sent out by Wednesday the 13th of August. If you do not receive the supplies or need more, let me know.

Following IAFF Local 3990 by-laws. Notification of nominations must be made 15 days prior to the date of nominations. Nominations will be held at the Union Hall. Election during September regular meeting.

Save Clearwater Fire
For the last six years the City of Clearwater Florida, has waged war on our fellow Brothers and Sisters of L1158. This policy of over the top punishment and illegal firings constitute open warfare on Clearwater's Fire Fighters and has resulted in the taxpayer footing the bill for several hundred thousand dollars in legal fees, back pay, and benefits as the City of Clearwater is consistently defeated in a court of law.
Yearly Members of the IAFF stand on street corners collecting donations, for the annual "Fill the Boot Campaign" for the MDA. The city of Clearwater has told the members of L1158 they will not be allowed to participate in this event. Saturday August 23rd and Sunday August 24th thousands of IAFF members from all over the state of Florida will descend on Clearwater in protest of Chief Geer's and the City of Clearwater's decision to disallow collections. Every street corner will be filled to show the Fire Chief and City Commission the IAFF and FPF will not stand for their Union Busting Tactics. More information on this event will be forthcoming in the near future.

Boycott the Florida Firefighter Games
On Friday June 13th, over 500 delegates representing the 26,000 Professional Firefighters in Florida UNANIMOUSLY voted to boycott the Florida Firefighter Games because of their intention to hold the 2009 games in Clearwater.
When informed of the illegal union busting tactics used by Clearwater Fire Chief Jamie Geer and City Officials, Florida Firefighter Games officials shrugged off the CFFA, siding with making money over standing with their fellow firefighters, who have financially supported the games and the host city.
The Executive Board of L3990 supports this Boycott. All members are asked to join us to show our support for the Brothers and Sisters of L1158.

From June 1, 2007 to May 31, 2008 we had 13,865 Visitors. Broken down it looks like this, 38 hits per day, 266.6 hits per week and 1,155.4 hits per month.
During our first year we had 12,245 hits. During that year we averaged 33.5 hits per day, 235.5 hits per week and 1,024.4 hits per month.Thank you, to all the visitors and members who visit our site.
