The Professional Firefighters of Lake County have dedicated October to TURNING LAKE COUNTY PINK. All around Lake County, you will see our firefighters wearing pink uniform shirts. These shirts are showing support and awareness for women that have or are battling cancer.
"This is not just about breast cancer. This is about helping make women aware of all the different types of cancer that they could be victim to. We encourage them to learn more and become educated and screened regularly" states Lt Brian Gamble, Vice President of the Professional Firefighters of Lake County. "All our people are showing they CARE ENOUGH TO WEAR PINK during this month long campaign."
You can join in the effort. These uniform shirts are being sold on this website ORDER PINK SHIRTS . You can also swing by Chick-fil-a in Lady Lake, Clermont & Mt. Dora on Fridays between 1030 & 2PM to pick up your shirts. All proceeds from the shirts are donated locally to support woman's cancer research and awareness, as well as to charities that help support ladies currently battling cancer. Last year over $2,000 was donated towards this cause.
